'The Healing Power'

In this poem, Levertov speaks to the subtle and often unseen ways healing happens, in the stillness and silence that surrounds it. Levertov reflects on how recuperation can be a quiet, internal process, a return to a more balanced state of being.

"It is the simple thing,  

the waiting,  

the listening,  

the coming back to oneself  

in the small moments  

that allow the body,  

finally, to breathe again."
